How do I pay for an obituary notice?
If you are a local funeral home, you may elect to be billed. Otherwise, all notices must be paid for by credit card.

What if I notice a mistake in my notice after submitting it?
You may make changes to your notice at any point before deadline for that day’s publication. Simply log in to your account, locate your ad in the Future Ads area, and “Modify”. If you are paying by credit card and you change the cost of the ad, you will be credited/charged the correct amount, depending on if your amount increases or decreases.

Can I work on my notice and save it without submitting it?
Yes, you may build the notice, see how much it will cost and save it for later.

Will my notice run in color in the newspaper?
Yes.

Is the preview an accurate representation of how the notice will look in the paper?
Yes, what you see on the computer is what will appear in the newspaper.
TIP:  Photos should be clear and high resolution 200 dpi or above for best quality. Size 1.56 inches by 2.25 inches.

What if I miss the deadline for a publication?
Please call 434-978-7294 and we may be able to assist you. If the date is unavailable on your screen, the deadline has passed.

Can I run obituaries in other newspapers & websites?
Yes. You may elect to publish your obituary in any of the following newspapers: Bristol Herald Courier, Smyth County News, Floyd Press, Richlands News-Press, Wytheville Enterprise, Bland County Messenger, Washington County News. Simply select your newspaper(s) from the Publication screen. Note that the deadlines for each newspaper can be different. Bristol Herald obituaries will appear on HeraldCourier.com and weekly obituaries appear on SWVAtoday.com.
